1902

It all began in 1902, when Jean François and Celina founded the PLANCKAERT bakery-pastry shop in Tourcoing. Together, they gave birth to two sons, Paul (born in 1897) and Victor (born in 1900).

Lacking space and wishing to expand, the store will be transferred to 341 Rue de la Croix- Rouge, still in Tourcoing and at the store's current location.

1919

In 1919, on the death of their father, Paul and Victor took over the family business with their mother Celina.

Both passionate about the bakery-pastry business and pioneers of home delivery, Paul delivers bread in Tourcoing's neighborhoods with his scooter.

1923

In 1923, Paul married Madeleine Vanlaere and they had 7 children.

A family of craftsmen for as long as they can remember, the 7 children have always been passionate about trade and food to the point of setting up their own business!

.Françoise will be a farmer in Tourcoing at the Castel farm;

Paul opens his bakery in Lille's Bois Blanc district;

Henri, decides to move to Rue de Roncq, still in Tourcoing;

.Albert, crosses the border to our Belgian neighbors, more precisely to Coxyde (Koksijde) with a nod to Tourcoing by naming his bakery-pastry shop "Le Broutteux", the symbolic name of the town;

.Michelle is a café owner/tobacco merchant in Croix, having previously worked as a chemist;

Pierre also crossed the border and set up his hotel-restaurant "Le Terlinck" on the Coxyde dike;

And finally, in 1962, Jean-François took over the family bakery and patisserie and developed it with his wife Monique.

1930

In 1930, Victor married Yvonne Vanlaere and decided to open a bakery in Wasquehal.

He offers our famous home-made filled waffles (Vanilla, Cassonnade, Rum and Cointreau) which he traditional waffle irons that still delight your taste buds today.

Monique and Jean have 4 children: Nathalie (1963 †), Ghislain born in 1963, Odile born in 1967 and Sophie born in 1969.

The Christmas shell that Chti expatriates have made famous around the world.

Jean-François and Monique develop a new range of products.

But also the famous pavés de Tourcoing, delicious homemade praline chocolate of France in 1985.

In 1992, Ghislain and Nathalie Planckaert took over the family bakery the Tourcoing store.

Our desserts have crossed generations and still delight your taste buds, with our famous St ange created 30 years ago, or the Millénaire created to celebrate the year 2000.

2023

We continue to deliver our products with respect for tradition and the environment.

Today, Ghislain (4th generation) and his nephew Théophile (5th generation), along with their 27 enthusiastic employees, are continuing the tradition with the aim of satisfying you!
